Local lass and glamorous Girls Aloud favourite Kimberley Walsh was this week announced as the secret celebrity to open and participate in the UK's first ever High Heel-a-thon on Sunday 27th September, hosted by Brand Communications agency Clearsilver in aid of Breast Cancer Haven.

		To celebrate her recently announced role as Breast Cancer Haven Celebrity Ambassador, Kimberley will be returning to the Leeds Haven to take part in the event and don her heels to support this fabulous event. The event kicks off at 1.30pm on Sunday September 27th at The Gateway, home of Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds. Kimberley will lead the high-heeled stroll along its 1.24 mile route through Brewery Wharf to Clarence Dock and then back to Breast Cancer Haven. Kimberley said of the event, "I am absolutely delighted that the High Heel-a-thon is my first duty as Breast Cancer Haven Ambassador - I think this is a fantastic event and as I'm a local girl I'm so excited to be part of such major activity for the city. I'll have my heels at the ready and will definitely keep them on for the whole of the course!" The aim of the event is to raise £10,000, which will fund the Yorkshire Breast Cancer Haven's reflexology therapies for a whole year. The £20 it costs to register for the event covers your entrance fee and your gorgeous hot pink t-shirt. We are also encouraging entrants to try and raise £100 in sponsorship from family and friends to help reach the target set.
