| The UK's first ever High-Heel-a-thon, hosted by brand communications agency Clearsilver, concluded on Sunday after hundreds of fundraisers completed the 1.24 mile journey through Leeds in their sexy stilettos. Accompanying these tottering beauties was Yorkshire's very own singing superstar Kimberley Walsh - who donned her own pair of heels to help raise money for the Breast Cancer Haven charity. | ![]() |

The UK's first High Heel-a-thon began outside Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds
with the 1.24 mile route navigating around the Clarence Dock area of the city,
and with stunned onlookers getting swamped in a sea of pink feather boas,
stilettos and a flurry of press activity!
Dozens of men, dressed in a variety of colours, also donned their heels to take part in the unique event. Cross dresser Ian 'Susan' Platt, 51, was the winner of the highest-heel prize after managing to complete the course in his 10-inch stilettos - winning £150 in Moda in Pelle vouchers! With over 200 stiletto supporters turning up to support the fantastic event, Leeds' band Becks and the Bullets ensured that all were entertained with a selection of their greatest hits played out to welcome back the brave walkers over the finishing line. Clearsilver director, Louise Leach said "We couldn't be more pleased with the fantastic support we had in celebrating the UK's first ever High-Heel-a-thon – we had such a great turn out that we are already beginning to plan next year's event which promises to be bigger and better than ever!” For all you unlucky ones who missed out on Sunday's action you can still show your support for the event and welcome in Breast Cancer Awareness month by making a generous donation via the Just Giving link on our High Heel-a-thon website. Thank you once again for all your stiletto support and contributing towards such a fantastic event - you can hang up your heels for now... |
